What is a Solid State Drive?

From the dawn of computing, hard drives have been mechanical devices. They are now being replaced by SSDs. These have no moving parts, being simply a box of electronics.

Why do I need one?

They are much faster and don't slow down over time, as they do not become fragmented. Your computer will start up in about 30 seconds and programs will open almost instantly.

What does it cost?

The average price of an SSD conversion is £210 + VAT. That's about a third of the price of a new PC or laptop.

Extend the life of your computer rather than replace it. You know it makes sense.
